Bluestem Goldenrod attracts: butterflies, birds, native bees, honey bees and beneficial insects that protect your garden from insect pests.
Bluestem Goldenrod is a relatively small goldenrod that is not aggressive. In the wild it is found in open upland woods so does well in a variety of soils under relatively dry conditions and is shade tolerant. It's form and flowers look best with 3 hours of sunlight. It is a good choice for a Shade Garden. Plants are excellent in butterfly gardens and in mass plantings. Provides a valuable source of food in the fall for wildlife but is deer resistant!
Contrary to popular myth, goldenrod does not cause allergies. Their pollen is too heavy to float in the air! (Plants like ragweed are the culprits!)
